1560-61 Elizabeth I silver Groat (S2557). Second issue hammered coin without rose or date, made at Tower Mint, London. Cross crosslet mintmark. Obverse: Crowned bust 1F of Elizabeth I facing left, wearing ruff and embroidered dress, legend ELIZABETH D G ANG FR ET HI REGINA. Reverse: quartered shield of arms of England and France placed over a long cross fourchee. While having a wavy flan and some surface roughness, coin is fully round with a very strong portrait.
