1604-1619 James I (and VI) Gold Unite (S2620). Second coinage. Mintmark cinquefoil. Obverse: Fifth bust looking right, IACOBVS D:G: MA: BRI: FRA: ET HI: REX. Reverse: Shield of arms of the House of Stuart, FACIAM: EOS: IN ENTEM: VNAM. Visually appealing with super portrait, some flat points on obverse but sharp devices indicative of extremely fine detail. A couple of elevated die folds on obverse and no scratches. Overall grade aEF. Price AUS$13,085

1653 Commonwealth of England Unite (S3208) (8.90 gms, 35 mm) Royal Mint London. Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland, the Interregnum of 1649-1660 with Oliver Cromwell as Lord Protector. Obverse: kite shaped Escutcheon with the cross of St George within an untied wreath of laurel and palm, mintmark sun above, THE COMMONWEALTH OF ENGLAND around. Reverse: conjoined kite shaped Escutcheons of the Armorial of the Kingdom of Ireland on the right and the cross of St George on the left, value XX above, all within a beaded border, date above and GOD WITH VS around. This striking unite is of utmost appeal and collectibility, struck on a fairly round flan, even devises, some doubling to reverse, but extremely pleasing in hand.

Obverse: second draped bust of Anne looking left, hair tied with ribbon, ANNA DEI GRATIA. Reverse: cruciform shields of the Arms of the House of Stuart, garter star central, seven strings to Irish harp, date either side of top crown, MAG BRI FR ET HIB REG. A most visually pleasing example with reddish toning each side.
